For the past decade the BNP Paribas Foundation has provided support for AFEV, a network of 5,000 student volunteers who tutor about 10,000 children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

Additional support is being provided for this program as part of the Project Banlieues initiative. a class="UnderBLU" href="http://www.afev.org/" onkeypress="window.open(this.href); return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href); return false;">AFEV will expand its program to reach more neighbourhoods and create new outlets in order to provide tutoring for an additional 1,000 children. The first was opened in Nice in 2006 and the association has been able to recruit five permanent staff.

BNP Paribas is also promoting a class="UnderBLU" href="http://www.afev.org/" onkeypress="window.open(this.href); return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href); return false;">AFEV through its branch networks and targeted communications to encourage more students to join the volunteer program.
